It Happened to Me: Week Two

            It was another great weekend at Calvary. You have done a great job inviting people and the last two Sundays we’ve had incredible crowds and scores of first time guests! Sunday I taught from Hebrews 11 and this week in our Life Groups we’re talking about how faith involves taking a risk. All of us have things we know and things we don’t know. We never see the entire journey from the first step, but that doesn’t keep us from taking the first step. It is what we know for sure that informs us and motivates us to step into what we don’t know for sure. Why should we believe our doubts and doubt our beliefs? Settle some things for sure, the reality of God, the character of God, and then trust and obey God even when you can’t see the finish from the start.

            I hope this week you’ll continue reading from the Bible each day. This week’s reading plan is all from Hebrews 11:

            Monday:            Hebrews 11:1-6

            Tuesday:           Hebrews 11:7-12

            Wednesday:      Hebrews 11:13-16

            Thursday:          Hebrews 11:17-22

            Friday:              Hebrews 11:23-29

            Saturday:          Hebrews 11:30-38

            Sunday:            Hebrews 11:39-40

            The verse to memorize this week is II Corinthians 5:7.
